About Me

I’m a hematologist with a clinical focus on acute and chronic leukemia, non-Hodgkins lymphoma (NHL), myeloma, and stem cell transplantation. I serve as program director for the Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant Program here at OSUCCC – James, and as a professor of internal medicine for The Ohio State University.

My career goal is to make a positive contribution to the field of blood and marrow transplantation. I do this by taking care of my patients undergoing stem cell transplantation, and through my involvement in clinical and translational research.

I’ve co-authored more than 146 published articles in a variety of medical journals, and authored numerous book chapters and abstracts. I have been fortunate to be study chair of two multicenter clinical trials supported by the National Institutes of Health involving patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). I want to continue my leadership role within the field of blood and marrow transplantation by leading additional multicenter trials that I hope will improve the outcomes of our patients.

Every day, I care for people who have no choice but to face their cancer head-on. They are incredibly strong and inspiring, and that puts life into perspective for me. I’m also privileged to work with dedicated nurses, nurse practitioners, researchers and fellow physicians. I believe that it will take all of us to find a cure someday for this pervasive disease. I feel very fortunate that the OSUCCC – James is where I get to make my contribution to the fight.

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

As of 03/28/2017, Dr. Devine has reported financial relationships with the medical device, research and/or drug companies listed below. If you have questions about the relationships listed below, please ask the faculty member.
