About Me
I’m a surgical oncologist who treats patients suffering from sarcoma, desmoid tumors and breast cancer. Although my specialty is surgery, I consider myself a cancer doctor first and foremost. There are many ways to treat cancer and it’s important to consider all of them. I also serve as an associate professor in the Division of Surgical Oncology at The Ohio State University and as medical director of The James Physician Wellness Program. I was named to the Castle Connolly list of “Regional Top Doctors” in 2019 and 2020.
The multidisciplinary approach to cancer care at the OSUCCC – James is evidenced by the presence of tumor boards. These review boards ensure that each patient’s tumor receives evaluation by experts across cancer specialties. It’s a highly effective way to help customize treatment.
I am also board certified by the American Board of Surgery in Complex General Surgical Oncology and an active member of the Connective Tissue Oncology Society, the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology and several cooperative groups that develop clinical trials and study sarcoma treatment.
My research interests include improvement in quality of care for cancer patients through collaborative groups and the development of biomarkers for early detection and to monitor the treatment of sarcoma. Like everyone at The James, I’m inspired and driven by the opportunity to provide the best possible treatment and improve our patients’ lives and outcomes.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
