Background: In 1987, Dr. Slinka joined the Department of Neurology at Ohio State, where he currently holds the title of professor. He is the recipient of multiple teaching awards.
Research Interests: Acute stroke treatment, specifically in the use of intra-arterial thrombolytic therapy. Another topic of interest is in the genetic and hereditary aspects of stroke. He is actively involved as a principal investigator with a number of industry- and NIH- sponsored clinical trails relating to acute stroke treatment and secondary prevention of stroke.
