Background: Before entering medical school, Dr. Otto completed a research fellowship sponsored by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute at the National Institutes of Health. After graduating from Wright State University School of Medicine, he completed his residency in otolaryngology at Ohio State and a rhinology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian. His research interests include predictors of clinical outcomes for rhinosinusitis and the pathogenesis of nasal polyps.

Current Research: Dr. Otto has patents pending for new devices to treat sinusitis and rhinitis. As a member of the Comprehensive Skull Base Surgery Center, Dr. Otto is also interested in the development of new techniques and devices to treat complex skull base disorders.
