Experience and Interests

Matt’s clinical interests include working with athletes of all different ages on and off of the field with a variety of sport and orthopedic pathologies. He is actively involved in Ohio State's outreach program providing medical coverage for club and recreational sports as well as the marching band.

Matt has experience working with the deaf and hard-of-hearing population through previous work at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. and service as an athletic trainer for the USA Deaf Sports Federation and 2013 Deaflympic Games in Sofia, Bulgaria. He will continue this work with the 2017 Deaflympic Summer Games in Samsun, Turkey.

Matt is involved with three research projects specific to deaf and hard-of-hearing athletes. He is currently investigating satisfaction levels at the Deaflympic Games, studying baseline ImPACT scores and baseline scores from the Clinical Test of Sensory Organization and Balance.

Outside of the clinic and sports coverage, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing ice hockey and participating in endurance events.
