Dr. Subha Raman, MD

As a cardiologist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Dr. Subha Raman is an expert when it comes to the heart. When presented with a young man with Duchenne, Dr. Raman took her years of research and practice to develop a treatment for the young man all because of what she saw in his heart.

Dr. Raman suggested two common drugs, typically used in cases of heart failure, to help combat the effects of Duchenne in the young man. This treatment has been a resounding success in that it has been able to improve his heart and muscle function. Thanks to Dr. Raman’s discovery, many more Duchenne patients are seeing their health and their outlook improve.
