  Each patient's therapy is managed by an experienced team of clinical pharmacists, along with supervising physicians. All of our pharmacists have specialized training certification in the management of anticoagulation therapy, lipid management and smoking cessation.

  We provide personalized care for patients taking blood-thinning or anticoagulation medications in order to help prevent blood clotting and strokes and minimize risk for bleeding complications. Our services include:

  • Close patient monitoring and follow up

  Cardiovascular Risk Reduction and Lipid Care

  We design individualized care plans to help reduce the instances of disease caused by an abnormally high amount of lipids in the blood, including heart attacks and strokes. If you have an intolerance to therapy, difficulty achieving lipid goals, a strong family history of heart disease, low HDL, high triglycerides, metabolic syndrome, familial hypercholesterolemia or are on medications that are a high risk for interactions, then you may benefit. The clinic specializes in:

  • Cardiovascular event risk reduction

  Smoking Cessation offers consultation and support services to assist those who are thinking about or ready to stop smoking. We provide both pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies to help patients achieve and maintain a tobacco-free lifestyle. The program, which is covered by most insurance plans, provides each participant with:

  • Initial individual assessments with a pharmacist that include behavioral counseling and pharmacologic treatment as well as assessments for blood pressure, heart rate, weight, medications, past health history and immunizations
  • Follow-up visits whenever a patient wishes to review progress, strategies and medications, and make adjustments as needed

  A nurse will collect information about your health, fitness, previous operations, allergies and more in order to individualize your care to your specific needs.  It helps prepare the surgeon, the anesthesiologist and you by identifying any potential anesthetic, surgical or post-operative complications. You may also undergo an electrocardiogram (ECG), blood or urine tests or other tests. The assessment length varies depending on the type of operation that you are having.

  Ohio State’s rheumatology infusion suite serves patients with arthritis, osteoporosis, gastroinestinal, dermatologic and pulmonary conditions that require intravenous infusions. A patient care representative will help schedule and verify insurance coverage for the patient. Registered nurses administer and monitor the patient during the infusion procedure.
