Ohio State Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation

in Harding Hospital

Bringing hope to those with difficult-to-treat depression and other mental health conditions.

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center has a dedicated suite specially outfitted for its transcranial magnetic stimulation treatments, giving people with depression and other mental health disorders a variety of therapy options to improve their symptoms and get them back to living the life they want.

Transcranial magnetic stimulation is a non-drug treatment that uses magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain and influence mood. It’s noninvasive and often used when other, more common forms of mental health treatment — such as medications or psychotherapy — have not worked well enough to treat your condition.

The procedure, which uses pulses that are the same type and strength as the ones used in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Providing this service in a state-of-the-art facility is part of our commitment to interventional psychiatry and offering innovative therapy techniques for people whose mood disorders greatly impact their lives.

Patient pick-up and drop-off is located on the east side of the building on 1670 Upham Drive between Ohio State Harding Hospital and Dorothy M. Davis Heart & Lung Research Institute.
