Fiore Healthcare Advisors, Founder and CEO
Dr. Gregory Fiore is United States board certified physician, healthcare executive and entrepreneur. He is a recognized expert in clinical research and pharmacovigilance (PV) and has particular expertise in designing PV and medical systems, structuring programs to ensure appropriate medical oversight within clinical trials, and participating in safety advisory committees. He has overseen PV and clinical research for more than 10 therapy areas and has experience in the US, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Latin America.
Dr. Fiore is the Founder and current Chief Executive Officer of a niche scientific consultancy, Fiore Healthcare Advisors. The firm provides clinical research and safety consulting to pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies as well as provides oversight for several academic research programs. Greg is also the Founder and current Chief Medical Officer of SSI Strategy, a niche multinational management consultancy with a focus in Medical Office functions (Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, PV). SSI combines business consulting experience and discipline with pharmaceutical domain expertise to ensure the effectiveness of medical organizations in contributing to overall corporate success.
Prior to these roles, Dr. Fiore was the Chief Medical Officer of a global, commercial stage biotechnology and device company focused on developing and marketing hospital products for critically ill patients. As CMO, Dr. Fiore was responsible for Pharmacovigilance, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs standards and platforms as well as Good Clinical Practices Quality. Dr. Fiore played an active role in Business Development and led or oversaw diligence for multiple acquisition targets. He was co Chairperson of the Safety and Medical Policy Committee.
Prior to this, Dr. Fiore spent time in roles of increasing responsibility in PV, including Regional Head of PV and Global Head of PV. He led a development program for a new chemical entity exploring a novel mechanism for treatment of heart failure. He also spent time in business development, having completed two deals, and was Head of Alliance Management for two franchises. Dr. Fiore has worked at companies such as Merck, Schering-Plough, The Medicines Company and Abbott Laboratories (currently Abbvie).
Dr. Fiore was valedictorian at New York Medical College and trained in Internal Medicine at Harvard Medical School's Brigham and Women’s Hospital and then underwent further clinical training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine in the Harvard Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship program. From Harvard he joined McKinsey & Company where he worked on projects in a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Fiore was a member of the CIOMS IX working group on Risk Minimization and serves on several Safety Advisory Committees, including in the role of Chairperson. He has also served on the board of Dubset Media Holdings and is a Scientific Advisory Board member for Advera Health Analytics. He serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of Clinical Leader, an online journal aimed at providing solutions for the Pharmaceutical Industry.
