friedmanDr. Richard Friedman is a contributing opinion writer for The New York Times and has been a longtime contributor to the science section of The Times since 2002. He is also a professor of clinical psychiatry and the director of psychopharmacology clinic at Weill Cornell Medical College.

Dr. Friedman areas of study include neurobiology and the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, in addition to research on depression.
