Olympic Gold Medalist, Assistant Coach, Rowing, The Ohio State University
Anna Goodale is an Olympic gold medalist and four-time world rowing champion. She competed with National U.S. Rowing from 2005 to 2010. Anna started rowing at Syracuse University in 2001 as a walk-on.
After the 2010 World Championship, Anna decided to retire from rowing competitively and explore other opportunities. She worked in Wanaka, New Zealand, at Rippon Winery for a harvest before moving to Cuenca, Ecuador.
She started her coaching career in 2014 at Gonzaga University, where she helped lead the team to their best finish in school history – 17th at NCAAs. She transitioned to her current position as the novice rowing coach at The Ohio State University in 2015. In the past three seasons, Ohio State has won three Big Ten championships, culminating in 2018 with winning all events for the first time in conference history.
Anna is a mom to two young boys: Avery, age 6, and Owen, age 1.5.
