Niki Wilkinson began working in the Segal Lab during her junior year as an undergraduate at the University of Michigan. During this time, she assisted various lab members, particularly those working with Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis (EAE). She wrote a senior thesis about the potency of classical dendritic cells as antigen presenting cells in EAE, based on work done with past MD-PhD student, David Giles, and PhD student, Patrick Duncker. In May of 2018, she graduated from the University of Michigan with a BS in Neuroscience. Since graduating Niki Wilkinson has started working as a technician in the lab. In addition to assisting various lab members with experiments, she is investigating the function of distinct myeloid populations throughout the course of EAE.
