Taryn received her BS in Neuroscience from the University of Rochester in 2013. She then moved to Hershey, PA to obtain her PhD in Neuroscience from the Penn State College of Medicine. Taryn completed her thesis research in Dr. Aron Lukacher’s lab. The focus of the Lukacher lab is on the contribution of T cells to the control of polyomavirus infection. Taryn’s work investigated the importance of CD4 T cell help to the development of resident memory CD8 T cells following mouse polyomavirus infection in the brain and the role of interferons in the control of brain polyomavirus infection.Taryn joined the Segal lab in June of 2019.
