My research interests include the relationship between medically unexplained physical symptoms and emotional disorders, the delivery of evidence-based behavioral health interventions, suicide prevention and the integration of mental health services into primary care settings.

I am executive director for the Ohio State Harding Hospital. In 2015, I was named executive director of Clinical Operations for the Wexner Medical Center Neurological Institute. In this role, I will oversee the opening of the new Brain and Spine Hospital and manage operations and finances for all Neurological Institute clinical and hospital locations.

Dr. Arnold focuses on new drug development, and alternative and complementary treatments for autism and ADHD. His research includes aromatic essential oil therapy for autism spectrum disorder, omega-3 fatty acids for mood disorders, neurofeedback for ADHD, nutrition and mental health, and clinical trials.

Dr. Axelson focuses on the phenomenology and treatment of pediatric bipolar disorder, encompassing both psychosocial and psychopharmacological approaches. His phenomenological work has focused on the longitudinal course of pediatric bipolar disorder and the role of subthreshold symptoms of mania in the developmental progression of bipolar disorder.

Dr. Pyter seeks to understand the basic mechanisms underlying cancer-induced changes in inflammatory processes in the brain and periphery. She studies the immune-mediated effects of peripheral tumors in rodent breast and oral cancer models. Areas of focus include cognitive/affective-like behavior and associated changes in brain structure and physiology, as well as dermal and mucosal tissue repair.
