Research Interests: As assistant director of the Genetically Engineered Mouse Modeling Core (GEMMC), Dr. Pu is interested in modeling human disease in the mouse, which provides a powerful tool for elucidating mechanisms and interrogating experimental therapeutics.

The Genetically Engineered Mouse Model Core (GEMMC) team's expertise includes generating and maintaining genetically engineered mouse lines. The team assists in producing classical transgenic lines by pronuclear injection of DNA and targeted lines (knock-out, knock-in and conditional) by embryonic stem cell technology. The GEMMC is also able to create mutant mouse lines using CRISPR/CAS9 technology. It also offers all other ancillary services, including sperm or embryo cryopreservation, rederivation and in vitro fertilization (IVF).

Dr. Pu assists investigators who want to start using mouse models to complement and strengthen their in vivo studies or grant proposals.
