Basil Pesto

Items Needed:

Food processor or blender, storage container

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, or more to taste
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or more to taste

Directions

  1. In a food processor or blender, add the basil, Parmesan, and garlic.
  2. Pulse the machine until everything is chopped well.
  3. With the machine running, drizzle in the oil until well combined.
  4. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. To store, put the pesto in a small container, and cover with a thin layer of olive oil.
