About Me

I entered a radiology residency at The Ohio State University College of Medicine after completing two years of internal medicine training. I was always interested in pulmonary disease so chest radiology was natural for me. I completed fellowship training at UC San Diego in 1993 and joined the faculty at Ohio State in January 1994 as an assistant professor in the Chest Radiology Division. Early in my career, I was a co-investigator on grants with faculty members in pulmonary medicine on HIV-related lung disease. Besides the pulmonary manifestations of HIV infection, my primary areas of research focused on chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension, eosinophilic lung disease, particularly acute eosinophilic pneumonia, and airways disease in patients with alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency. I was promoted to associate professor in 2000.

In 2008, I was appointed the radiology residency program director. I enjoy watching the residents grow as radiologists, physicians and professionals during their residency. I take great pride in managing our program, and it is an honor to be entrusted with this responsibility. It has been the highlight of my medical career.

Outside of work, I remain active as a professional musician, a career that began well before my medical career and that I will continue well after retirement.

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

As of 09/30/2022, Dr. King has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
