Experience and Interests
Tessa grew up as a pre-professional dancer which was her initial spark for the physical therapy profession. Tessa continued dancing throughout high school and college but shifted her interests towards the treatment of the performing artist. She became a sports medicine intern with the Milwaukee Ballet and founded the Dance Medicine Clinic and Journal Club through Marquette University's on-campus physical therapy clinic. Attaining a competitive internship as a PT student with the Washington Ballet in D.C. allowed her to gain more experience working with this specialized population. Tessa continued to pursue her interest in the rehabilitation of the performing artist throughout her Orthopedic Residency at OSU and is happy to be a member of the Performing Arts Medicine team as the Performing Arts Fellow-in-Training. Her clinical interests include treatment and prevention of lower extremity injuries with a focus on the foot/ankle complex.
