Experience and Interests
- BOC licensed athletic trainer since 1991
Prior to joining Ohio State, Chris worked in professional ice hockey for 14 years, covering over 1,000 games, serving as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Columbus Blue Jackets from 2000-2008 and as Head Athletic Trainer for USA Hockey during the 2003 World Ice Hockey Championship, 2004 World Cup of Hockey, and 2016 Youth Olympic Games. In addition, he served as Head Athletic Trainer for the USA Rugby Collegiate All-American team tours from 2010-2014.
Chris completed executive education courses at Columbia University, CMPE from MGMA, and his Lean Six Sigma black belt training at Villanova University. He has served his state and district athletic trainer associations through both volunteer and leadership positions. Chris is an Ohio Athletic Trainers' Association (OATA) Athletic Trainer of the Year (2006) and National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) Service Award (2016) recipient.
