Ashley Nichols is the Education Program Lead Coordinator of the Wexner Medical Center Surgical Skills Lab. She has a diverse background spanning a variety of surgical environments, from hospital operating rooms to rural horse barns. Ashley started her career in the medical field working as a Sterile Processing Technician at a local hospital before transitioning to the role of a Veterinary Surgery Assistant, gaining experience at multiple specialty veterinary hospitals, including OSU’s own Galbreath Equine Hospital at The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center. With a strong foundation in surgical operations, Ashley is dedicated to enhancing education and innovation in both the medical and veterinary fields. Outside of the lab, Ashley can typically be found hiking with her dog, Dexter, or at the horse barn getting ready for a competition.
