Research Interests: Relationships among physical activity, physical literacy, clinical impairment-level measures, knee function, and knee biomechanics over time in young individuals after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction

Background: Christy is a board certified orthopedic physical therapy specialist at the Jameson Crane Sports Medicine Institute, where she has been working with patients since 2017.  She is also a current PhD student and graduate research associate in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at OSU.  Prior to her appointments at OSU, Christy gained expertise in pediatric sports medicine and rehabilitation at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.  Specialty topics of focus in her research, published work and national presentations include the female athlete, the soccer player, outcomes following ACL reconstruction, lower extremity biomechanics, physical literacy and injury prevention.  She is the Chair of the Female Athlete Special Interest Group within the American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy (AASPT) of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Dr. Zwolski also holds a national role as representative of the APTA and the AASPT at the Aspen Institute’s Project Play summits and workshops.  Outside of her clinic and research time at Ohio State, she enjoys playing semi-pro soccer, rock climbing, cycling, traveling, and summiting mountains.
