Research interests: My research interests are with clinical outcomes following surgical therapy for end-stage heart failure. Specifically, reduction in adverse events related to left ventricular assist device care and achieving optimal outcomes from heart transplantation.

Research lab goals: As head of the Cardiac Surgery Clinical Outcomes Research Center, the focus of our research projects is to understand where we stand in the surgical treatment of heart failure. By delving into various patient characteristics, clinical parameters and treatment options, we hope to better understand the current shortcomings, understand and define best care principles and to shine a light on improvements that can be made.
