We train tomorrow’s leaders and advance neurological medicine with a collaborative, cross-disciplinary approach.
Our Neurosurgery Residency Program is a seven-year program. Currently, 2 residents are selected each year. Training occurs at 2 sites, including OSUWMC and Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH), both in Columbus, Ohio. The training program has exceptionally robust and growing clinical and research opportunities. Currently, there are total of 28 faculty (26 clinical and 2 research) in the training program.
Areas of focus include neuro-oncology, spine surgery, skull base radiosurgery, stereotactic and functional neurosurgery and minimally invasive cranial surgery.
A sub-internship is available in the Department of Neurosurgery for OSU and visiting medical students. There is extensive clinical experience, on the wards, in the operating room and in clinic. The student attends conferences and rounds with the residents and attendings.
