Research Interests: Dr. Bishop's research interests include synaptic plasticity in cerebellar circuits.

Current Research: To analyze the physiological and developmental role of the peptide corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) in the adult and developing cerebellum

Research Techniques: Students will learn and use the following techniques in their research studies:

  • Immunohistochemistry: PAP and fluorescent techniques
  • Neuroanatomical: Retrograde labeling with horseradish peroxidase (HRP) and fluorescent microspheres
  • Physiological: Both in vivo and in vitro preparations, including multibarrel extracellular recording and intracellular recording
