About Me

In recent years, my clinical interests have included hyperbaric medicine, sports medicine, medical education, wilderness medicine and disaster preparedness. I'm a licensed physician with the Ohio Athletic Commission and serve as the medical team manager for Ohio Task Force One, a FEMA Urban Search & Rescue Team.

I love to travel and am always looking for international medicine opportunities. I have done medical mission work on four continents and have a goal to serve all seven.

I earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry with a minor in Russian from Case Western Reserve University where I continued my education earning a medical degree. Following medical school, I served in the United States Navy as an undersea & diving medical officer. I completed my residency training in emergency medicine at The Ohio State University including my final year as chief resident.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife, two daughters and son.

More About My Work

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

As of 09/29/2023, Dr. Bachmann has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
