Creating outstanding clinicians and investigators

One of the major goals of the Division of Infectious Diseases is to prepare medical students, residents and fellows to become outstanding clinicians and investigators. More specifically, to advance their clinical skills, scientific knowledge and patient caring attitudes. Our faculty's dedication is a key determinant in the success of our program. Post-doctoral trainees and clinicians pursue the division's fellowship program, an innovative two to three year program to prepare individuals as consultants in infectious diseases, with fundamental training for a career in academic infectious diseases.

Medical students learn through clinical rotations as part of their training in The Ohio State University College of Medicine and College of Public Health. Individuals train in The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center's extensive primary and tertiary care facilities for a full range of patient care activities and the division's dedicated laboratories for research endeavors. This environment, together with a mix of inpatient rotations, consults, mentor relationships, outpatient opportunities and meetings and conferences, offers a truly dynamic, comprehensive and exciting learning environment.

Infectious Disease Fellowship

The Infectious Disease Fellowship at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is an innovative two-year program that prepares individuals to be effective consultants in infectious diseases, and provides them with the fundamental training for a career in academic infectious diseases.
