Committed to excellence in colorectal surgery

Ohio State’s Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery is recognized for our patient care related to diseases and cancer of the colon and rectum. The Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery is dedicated to the achievement of excellence in patient care, medical education, clinical training and clinical research.

Formed in July 2012, this newly created division consists of faculty members who were previously part of the Division of General and Gastrointestinal Surgery. The creation of a separate division devoted to the treatment of benign and malignant colon and rectal disease will allow the team to set standards of patient care that are delivered consistently, streamlining the care for our patients. It also allows for growth potential through new faculty recruitment and expanded educational opportunities for both residents and fellows.

All faculty members in the division are board certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery, and have completed a residency in colon and rectal surgery. Providing specialized care to our patients, as well as teaching the next generation of surgeons to care and treat colorectal diseases, are top priorities for the division.
