Edwin H. and E. Christopher Ellison Endowment Fund

The Edwin H. and E. Christopher Ellison Endowment Fund was established to honor the accomplishments of the late Dr. Edwin H. Ellison and of his son, Dr. E. Christopher Ellison, for the significant impact that both have made on the field of general surgery at The Ohio State University. Dr. E. Christopher Ellison joined the Department of Surgery in 1984 following the completion of his general surgery residency at Ohio State. For nearly three decades he has shared his knowledge, experience and insight with colleagues and students, and has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and co-authored two books - the 9th edition of Zollinger's Atlas of Surgical Operations and The Coming Shortage of Surgeons. Dr. Ellison was appointed chairman of the Department of Surgery in 2000 and also serves as vice dean for clinical affairs and CEO of the Faculty Group Practice. He was named as a College of Medicine Distinguished Professor and holds the Robert M. Zollinger Chair in Surgery.

This fund shall provide support for ongoing needs, program enhancements, special initiatives and innovation. Allocations will be directed by the chair of the Department of Surgery in consultation with the dean of the College of Medicine.
