We provide all aspects of major surgical care. Surgeons at Ohio State are at the forefront of advances in surgical techniques, including many minimally invasive surgeries, which offer patients faster recoveries and less postoperative pain.
The mission of the Department of Surgery is consistent with that of The Ohio State University College of Medicine: to the deliver high quality patient care, contribute to innovations in medicine through translational research and clinical outcomes studies and educate medical students and postgraduate trainees.
Established in 1914, the department has a long and respected tradition of excellence in clinical care, research and education. The department is composed of nine surgical specialty divisions and seven centers.
