About Ohio State's COPPER Laboratory

The COPPER laboratory is a multidisciplinary collaboration consisting of investigators in thoracic and abdominal transplantation, biochemical engineering, biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, molecular biology and physiology. The COPPER Laboratory is dedicated to the development of extended ex-vivo donor organ perfusion that will serve as a platform for organ assessment, repair and modification to further improve transplant outcomes and donor organ utilization.


Master of Medical Science Program

The College of Medicine Master of Science in Medical Science Program (MMSP) offers physicians-in-training at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Nationwide Children’s Hospital the opportunity to prepare for research careers in academic medicine through pursuit of a core curriculum, individualized electives and seminars, as well as a mentored research project. The program provides an opportunity for promising clinically trained individuals to develop into independent biomedical academicians by facilitating the transition from postdoctoral training to a career as an independent investigator and educator.
