Caring for critically ill and injured patients



The Division of Trauma, Critical Care and Burn concentrates efforts in clinical care, research and education for patients with acute care problems. The division delivers high-quality care to patients suffering from surgical critical illness, trauma and burns.

The Division of Trauma, Critical Care and Burn was formed in March, 2006 with the charge of enhancing the Department of Surgery’s programs in surgical critical care, trauma, burns and emergency general surgery and developing an acute care surgery program.

The mission of the division is to improve people’s lives through innovations in research, education and patient care.
