The Provider Data Management (PDM) platform is the central database that pulls from other organizational areas and serves as the source of truth for Find a Doctor and Find a Researcher.

Find a Doctor (FAD) is the patient-facing directory of our clinicians on the Wexner and James websites, searchable by name, specialty, location or condition/procedure. For eligible providers who have an active patient schedule (physicians, APPs, therapists (PT, OT, Speech, Massage), counselors, social workers, dietitians, nutritionists, medical aestheticians, acupuncturists, chiropractors, speech language pathologists, OSUP Community Affiliate A and select OSUP Community Affiliate B), a Find a Doctor clinical profile page will be generated if the PDM contains the following:

  • Appointment phone number
  • Headshot
  • Biography
  • Conditions and expertise terms
  • Locations where patients are seen
  • Education and credentials

Find a Researcher (FAR) is a directory for medical students, fellows, researchers and colleagues on the College of Medicine and James websites, searchable by name, department or division. These academic profiles automatically publish if the PDM contains a photo, email, biography, research interests, education and they meet the requirements below:

  • For the Comprehensive Cancer Center, they must be a Principal Investigator on an actively funded or peer-reviewed research grant or project within a multi-investigator grant, an investigator that makes substantial research contributions such as PI of a national or investigator-initiated specialty-focused trial, an essential team member of a specialty-focused team project, an essential contributor to authoring high-impact, specialty-focused manuscripts, have an established specialty-focused research program or a director or co-director of a shared resource and make substantial contributions to scientific research.
  • For the College of Medicine, they must have an active faculty appointment at The Ohio State University of 50% or higher. Non-clinician researchers must have an appointment type of Research Faculty or Tenure-Track Faculty, academic rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor. Clinician researchers must have an appointment type of Clinical Faculty, academic rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor or be eligible for Principal Investigator status on research proposals.

For any changes or updates, the information must be corrected in the native database which feeds the PDM.
