Account protocols and standards

If you create and/or maintain institutional social media accounts for official university marketing or communications purposes, the Institutional Social Media Account Protocols and Standards document provides information on social media application and account requirements, criteria and management. Accounts under the medical center are required to meet a specific set of additional guidelines, which can be found here. Institutional accounts cannot be created without going through the application process outlined.

Personal Social Media Use

Connecting with others through your personal social media accounts can be an extremely effective way to showcase your research, network with others in your area, recognize members of your team, highlight the work being done here, actively engage in conferences and more. All Wexner Medical Center policies that guide how you act offline also apply to online behavior. Do not share any patient information without appropriate consent.

Social Media Ads

Social ads are some of the quickest and most effective ways to connect with our target audience. All of the major social networks offer advertising options, but that doesn’t mean you should use all of them. Many things go into choosing an ad, platform, audience, creative and budget. Make sure to take all of these into account when choosing what is best for your social ad. If you have questions about which platform or creative is best for your needs, reach out to the Wexner Medical Center social media team for assistance.
