Implementation Science at CATALYST
At CATALYST, we are committed to ensuring that evidence-based solutions reach the people and communities where they are needed the most. Knowledge alone is not enough; it must be put into action. That is why we partner with researchers, health care providers, community-based organizations, and patients to design and study implementation strategies that bring effective interventions into clinical and community settings.
What we do:
- Develop and test strategies to implement, scale, and sustain evidence-based practices in real-world settings.
- Foster strong collaborations with researchers, health care providers, and community organizations to drive the scale-up of effective interventions and improve health for all.
- Train future leaders to advance the science of implementation and champion implementation efforts in their communities.
Join us as we work to accelerate the integration of groundbreaking health care innovations, not just in Ohio but across the country, to improve public health and create a lasting impact.
What is Implementation Science?
Implementation science is the study of how to move evidence-based practices, interventions, and policies into real-world settings. It focuses on understanding what works, where, why, and how—so that research can lead to lasting improvements in health, education, and social outcomes. At its core, implementation science bridges the gap between discovery and practice, ensuring that what we know actually makes a difference in people’s lives.
What we offer
We offer tailored one-on-one and small team-based consultations to guide your implementation science efforts. Whether you’re developing a grant, choosing an implementation strategy, or designing an evaluation plan, our experts provide practical, research-informed guidance. We’ll begin with a brief screening to understand your needs and match you with the right support to develop a plan for your work.
Our training offerings help build Implementation Science capacity across all career stages. From intensive learning opportunities and topic-specific workshops to faculty development sessions and webinars, we create opportunities to deepen skills in implementation science.
We also provide mentorship for early-stage investigators and staff through our Implementation Science Network (ISN). The ISN is a collaborative hub that brings together faculty, staff, students, and partners who share an interest in bridging the gap between research and real-world practice. The ISN is not a formal institute but a dynamic community of scientists, practitioners, and thought leaders dedicated to advancing how evidence-based practices, programs, and policies are adopted and sustained across diverse settings.
We maintain a curated library of practical tools, resources, and websites to support implementation planning and execution.
