Specialized urgent cares
These specialized urgent care services give you quick access to expert care when you need it. Visits are billed at a specialist rate, which is usually higher than standard urgent care but lower than an emergency department visit.
Advanced Urgent Care
When you need fast medical care for serious but non‑life‑threatening conditions, Ohio State Advanced Urgent Care offers a trusted alternative to the emergency department (ED). Walk in or schedule an appointment seven days a week for patients of all ages. Treatment is led by emergency medicine physicians, providing hospital‑level care, advanced diagnostics and shorter wait times – often at a lower cost than an ED visit.
Conditions we treat:
- Broken bones, sprains and minor head or back injuries
- Burns, bruises and cuts that require stitches
- Abdominal pain, dehydration and urinary tract infections
- Postoperative concerns and suspected blood clots
- Sexual health concerns
- Cold, flu, strep throat and COVID‑19 symptoms
- Eye, ear, throat, sinus and respiratory infections
Diagnostic tools and treatments:
- On‑site X‑rays, CT scans, lab tests and ultrasound
- EKGs, IV hydration, stitches, casts and splints
Behavioral Health Urgent Care
Just like urgent cares provide immediate treatment for physical health needs, our Behavioral Health Urgent Care provides rapid access for adults needing mental and behavioral health services until they can meet with their outpatient provider. We also offer help to those needing an appointment for urgent mental health needs. Behavioral Health Urgent Care is available on weekdays for walk-in care and scheduled appointments.
Heart Express Care
Heart Express Care offers evaluation appointments for non-life-threatening cardiac symptoms for adults. Heart Express Care is staffed by advanced practice providers from the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital and are experienced in diagnosing heart issues. Heart Express Care is offered on weekdays by appointment.
Comprehensive cancer care from the OSUCCC–James
Coming to Outpatient Care Powell in September 2026, experts from the OSUCCC – James will offer multidisciplinary oncology care, routine screenings and other specialty services – delivered with the compassion and expertise you trust.

- Cancer infusion

We provide outpatient physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy to help you reduce pain, recover from injury and return to an active physical lifestyle.
On-site retail pharmacy
Prescribed a new medication at your visit? Leave the appointment with your new medication in hand. You can also have any of your prescriptions filled here, just like at any neighborhood pharmacy.
Imaging and lab services
No longer will you need to travel among different buildings for advanced imaging, such as MRI, X-rays, CT and ultrasound, or for lab work, such as urine and blood tests*. They’re all offered here and can be coordinated with your other appointments.
