Among the building’s many impressive features are floors 22, 23 and 24 –– the top three floors –– dedicated to maternity care, the jewel of the building with world-class accommodations and breathtaking views.
When you deliver your baby at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, you’ll be swaddled in the finest maternity amenities in central Ohio. From the moment you arrive and are escorted to a nonstop elevator to Labor and Delivery, to when you and your newborn depart your beautiful room for home, we’ll ensure you feel well cared for and comfortable.

While our reputation for caring for high-risk pregnancies is unrivaled, we’re equally proud of our expertise in supporting routine births that these three new maternity floors showcase. Here, our Labor and Delivery nurses work alongside your obstetrician or midwife to provide you with an individualized birthing experience based on your preferences, including the options for hydrotherapy or having a water birth with a midwife.

When you arrive, you’ll be greeted with an around-the-clock, free valet, front-door hospital access and a patient representative who’ll escort you on a nonstop elevator, if needed, up to Labor and Delivery.

Central Ohio’s only Level IV Maternity Center
The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center is the only Level IV Maternity Center in central Ohio. This means we’re equipped to care for the most complex conditions in pregnancy and manage urgent situations that may occur during your labor and postpartum stay.
Holistic, coordinated certified nurse-midwife support
If you choose to have a pregnancy supported by a certified nurse-midwife, our midwifery team will collaborate to provide care throughout your pregnancy, labor and delivery.
