About Me

I believe that by addressing mental health issues in childhood, young people can live healthier lives into adulthood. I work together with my colleagues at Ohio State’s Harding Hospital to develop personalized treatment plans that best fit the needs of each patient.

I strive to help my patients understand that being a mental health patient is just like being a patient with any other illness. Although many are anxious about what treatment will be like, they are quickly reassured when they see the warm, welcoming environment we provide.

Being a physician at an academic medical center also gives me the opportunity to improve mental health treatment through involvement in clinical research. I am currently doing research on specific medications — how they work and their side effects.

I am proud to be on the Healthgrades Honor Roll. Healthgrades is a national ranking system that identifies excellence within a medical field.

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

As of 03/28/2017, Dr. Lotfi-Fard has reported no financial relationships with medical device, research and/or drug companies.
