Top Ranked by Healthgrades

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and University Hospital East are among 260 U.S. hospitals to receive the 2016 Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence from Healthgrades. These hospitals are among the top five percent of hospitals in the nation that deliver high-quality care across at least 21 of 32 common inpatient conditions and procedures, as evaluated by Healthgrades. Almost 4,500 facilities were evaluated.

When compared to all other hospitals, the hospitals that won the award had a 27 percent lower in-hospital mortality rate for 19 procedures and conditions for which mortality was the primary outcome.

According to Healthgrades, if all hospitals performed at this award-winning level, nearly 160,000 lives could be saved each year.
