Annual Screenings
Participating in these lifelong checkups and body maintenance is critical for optimal health:
- Proper diet and exercise to maintain a healthy body weight
- Adequate calcium and vitamin D intake
- Appropriate vaccinations
- Depression screening
- Regular dental care
- Annual eye care
- Assessment of personal health risks (tobacco and alcohol use, personal safety, stress reduction)
Age 18+
- Screen for high blood pressure every 3-5 years
Age 21+
- Sexually transmitted infection (STI) screening
- Talk with your doctor about monthly testicular exam
Age 40+
- Screen for high blood pressure every year
- Diabetes and cholesterol screenings
- Talk with your doctor about testing for prostate cancer if you’re at higher risk
Age 45+
- Colorectal cancer screening every 5-10 years depending on type of screening test
Age 50+
- Lung cancer screening (current and former smokers who meet screening criteria)
- Talk with your doctor about testing for prostate cancer
Age 65+
- Abdominal aortic aneurysm screening (current and former smokers)
Age 18+
- Screen for high blood pressure every 3-5 years
Age 21+
- Breast exam by your doctor every 3 years
- Breast self-exam every month
- Pap smear (cervical cancer screening)
- 21+: Every three years
- 30+: Every five years with human papillomavirus (HPV) testing
- Sexually transmitted infection (STI) screening
Age 40+
- Screen for high blood pressure every year
- Mammogram every year or earlier if you have a family history. Talk to your doctor about what age is right for you.
- Diabetes and cholesterol screenings
Age 45+
- Colorectal cancer screening every 5-10 years depending on type of screening test
Age 50+

Age 65+
