Dr. Michael V. Drake’s service in higher education spans nearly four decades and includes senior leadership roles at universities and national organizations dedicated to advancing education. He became the 15th president of The Ohio State University on June 30, 2014. During his tenure, Ohio State has seen record highs in applications, graduation rates, academic excellence, diversity and donor support. The university has received national recognition for its commitment to teaching and learning as well as excellence in patient safety, clinical outcomes and efficiencies at the university’s Wexner Medical Center.

David McQuaid serves as chief executive officer of the Ohio State Health System and chief operating officer of the Wexner Medical Center. David has a strong background in operations and finance, clinical program growth, strategic planning and continuous process improvement. Throughout his career, he has focused on putting the patient first and is regarded by his peers as a strong patient advocate.

Michael A. Caligiuri, MD

Dr. Michael A. Caligiuri is a nationally known cancer researcher whose laboratory focuses on natural killer cell biology, the Epstein-Barr virus, lymphoma and leukemia. He is a professor of Internal Medicine and of Molecular Virology, Immunology and Medical Genetics. Dr. Caligiuri has designed and conducted many clinical studies for leukemia and lymphoma patients. He has authored or co-authored more than 400 publications, abstracts and review articles on immunology or leukemia. He came to Ohio State in 1997 from Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY.

She was executive director of University Hospital East from 2007 to October 2017. She previously was a director of nursing at University Hospital for four years. She came to Ohio State from Ohio Health where she was chief nursing officer for Grant Hospital. He leads the operations and further growth and development of Ohio State’s Ambulatory Services that includes more than 50 physical locations around the greater central Ohio area, totaling more than one million square feet, with 1.7 million outpatient visits per year. Named executive director of University Hospital in October 2017, Susan Moffatt-Bruce, MD, PhD, MBA, is also a tenured professor in Surgery, Molecular Virology Immunology and Medical Genetics and Biomedical Informatics. She served the medical center as chief quality and patient safety officer for six years prior. In 2015, she secured a four-year program project grant worth $4 million from the Agency of Healthcare Research and Quality to establish The Institute for the Design of Environments Aligned for Patient Safety (IDEA4PS). Dr. Moffatt-Bruce is chair of the Clinical Transformation Governance Committee that is directed to transform our care delivery model across the continuum, through the alignment of people, processes and technology.
