He became the 15th president of The Ohio State University on June 30, 2014. Dr. William Farrar is a surgical oncologist who was appointed interim CEO of the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute in November 2017. He also serves as medical director of the Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center and director of medical credentialing at The James. On The James medical staff since the hospital opened in 1990, Dr. Farrar is in the Molecular Carcinogenesis and Chemoprevention Program at the OSUCCC. He was rated among the top 10 percent of physicians in the nation for patient satisfaction in 2017, and is a 16-time recipient of the “Best Doctors in America” honor.

She served the medical center as chief quality and patient safety officer for six years prior. In 2015, she secured a four-year program project grant worth $4 million from the Agency of Healthcare Research and Quality to establish The Institute for the Design of Environments Aligned for Patient Safety (IDEA4PS). Dr. Moffatt-Bruce is chair of the Clinical Transformation Governance Committee that is directed to transform our care delivery model across the continuum, through the alignment of people, processes and technology.

Dr. Raphael Pollock is an internationally renowned cancer surgeon with more than three decades of experience as a research scientist. He joined the Department of Surgery at Ohio State in 2013 after being recruited from MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he had worked for 31 years. At Ohio State he has held several important positions, including vice chair for clinical affairs in the Department of Surgery, director of the Division of Surgical Oncology, director of the Sarcoma Research Laboratory, surgeon-in-chief for the OSUCCC and surgeon-in-chief for The Ohio State University Health Care System.
