Executive Director, Network Development and Outreach
Tom Blincoe is executive director of Network Development and Outreach for the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, directing a team that develops collaborative relationships with organizations throughout Ohio and beyond. Through these collaborations, independent health care providers remain independent, and patients in their regions can access more specialty and subspecialty medical services close to home.
Tom and his team oversee the Ohio State Health Network, a member-driven network of independent healthcare organizations in the state; and Ohio State’s TeleConsult Network, which connects providers throughout the state with Ohio State experts who assist in diagnosing and treating stroke, burn, hand and other urgent injuries and conditions locally through high-resolution visual and communication technology.
Tom and his team also support The Healthy State Alliance, Ohio State Wexner Medical Center’s partnership with Bon Secours Mercy Health that focuses on improving the health of Ohio communities; the Heart and Vascular Network; the James Cancer Network; and a network of independent healthcare providers who use Ohio State’s electronic health record system.
Tom and his team help hospitals, clinics, physician groups and other health providers collectively reduce costs, access continuing education, network with like professionals, identify and share best practices and find innovative solutions to common strategic and operational challenges.
Tom joined Ohio State in 1998 when Worthington, Ohio-based Harding Hospital became part of the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. He served as director of Marketing and Strategic Planning for Harding Hospital from 1988 to 1998, and played a key role in the negotiations that joined the two hospitals. At Ohio State, he served as associate executive director for Ohio State Harding Hospital, associate executive director and chief operating officer of the Ohio State Primary Care Network and executive director of Outreach and Engagement, before assuming his current role as Executive Director of Network Development and Outreach for the medical center.
Tom serves on several non-profit boards, and chairs the Madison Health board of trustees.
From Berrien Springs, Michigan, Tom earned his bachelor’s degree from Andrews University and an MBA from Ohio State.
