Ravi TripathiChief Health Informatics Officer

Dr. Ravi Tripathi is chief health informatics officer (CHIO) and clinical professor of Anesthesiology in The Ohio State University College of Medicine. In this capacity, Dr. Tripathi spearheads the development and deployment of information technology across medical, nursing and pharmacy disciplines. His leadership in integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into clinical workflows has significantly enhanced patient care while streamlining processes. Notably, Dr. Tripathi’s efforts to implement AI-driven solutions within the electronic health record system and deploy AI documentation software have resulted in improved efficiency and patient satisfaction. 

Additionally, Dr. Tripathi provides strategic guidance to clinicians at the Wexner Medical Center to advance the implementation and effective use of the electronic medical record system, IHIS and other digital tools. His strategic leadership extends to technology initiatives related to digital innovation, including telecommunications, data analytics and infrastructure.

In addition to his CHIO responsibilities, Dr. Tripathi practices cardiovascular intensive care at the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital. Board certified in clinical informatics, his academic interests encompass the interplay of health information technology, cardiac critical care, occupational health and clinical workflow optimization. He’s an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiology and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society.

Dr. Tripathi earned his medical degree from the Northeastern Ohio Medical University, completed an anesthesiology residency and critical care medicine fellowship at the University of Michigan and obtained an executive MBA at The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business
