Chief Health Informatics Officer
Dr. Ravi Tripathi is chief health informatics officer (CHIO) and clinical professor of Anesthesiology in The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He drives the development and deployment of information technology across medical, nursing and pharmacy disciplines. He also helps Wexner Medical Center clinicians advance the implementation and effective use of our electronic medical record system, IHIS and other digital tools. Dr. Tripathi provides strategic leadership in technology initiatives related to digital innovation, such as telecommunications, data analytics and infrastructure.
In addition to his CHIO responsibilities, Dr. Tripathi practices cardiovascular intensive care at the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital. Board certified in clinical informatics, his academic interests include the interplay of health information technology, cardiac critical care, occupational health and clinical workflow optimization. He’s an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiology and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. Dr. Tripathi is also a co-founder of the RossFit Wellness Initiative at the Ross Heart Hospital, a program to foster employee wellness through technology.
Dr. Tripathi earned his medical degree from the Northeastern Ohio Medical University. He then completed an anesthesiology residency and critical care medicine fellowship at the University of Michigan and an executive MBA at The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business
