With the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center since 2011, Stephanie Milburn was appointed associate vice president of Government Affairs for the Wexner Medical Center and the health sciences colleges in November 2021. Prior to this current role, Stephanie served for 10 years as director of Government Affairs at the Wexner Medical Center.
As associate vice president of Government Affairs, Stephanie manages the Wexner Medical Center Government Affairs team and leads the development and advancement of the public policy agenda for the Wexner Medical Center, including The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute. She advises and works closely with these leadership teams, the health science colleges and the university’s Office of Government Affairs to engage federal, state and local policymakers and leverage continued governmental support. She also represents the medical center with affiliated associations and organizations to advance our policy agenda.
Stephanie has two decades of experience working in multiple positions in Congress and state government. She began her post-college career as an Ohio Legislative Service Commission intern. Later, she led human services policy issues in Ohio’s Washington office under Gov. George Voinovich, directed legislative relations for the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services in the Taft administration, was policy staff of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Education and the Workforce and served as deputy chief of staff for U.S. Representative John Boehner.
Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Economics from the University of Notre Dame.
