Considered an international expert in voice and swallowing disorders, L. Arick Forrest was named vice dean of Clinical Affairs and president of The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. (OSUP) in 2017 and medical director of Ambulatory Services for The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in 2011.

Dr. Forrest received his medical degree from The Ohio State University. He completed a general surgery internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, a residency at The Ohio State University and a laryngology fellowship at Vanderbilt University. The fellowship was under the guidance of Robert Ossoff, DMD, MD, and was focused on voice disorders and treating the professional voice. Dr. Forrest went on to complete a second fellowship in microvascular and reconstructive surgery at Ohio State, under the guidance of Michael Sullivan, MD, and focused on post head and neck cancer reconstruction. He obtained his MBA from The Fisher College of Business at Ohio State. 

Dr. Forrest, along with Michael Trudeau, PhD, established the Voice and Swallowing Disorders Clinic at Ohio State in 1994. He has served numerous roles for the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery including vice chair, residency program director and Laryngology division and fellowship director.
