Sarah Sherer, MSHR, is the chief human resources officer and senior associate vice president at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where she champions people-first strategies that impact more than 27,000 team members. With more than two decades of experience in human resources, Sarah is known for her steadfast commitment to fostering an inclusive, team-based culture while advocating for opportunities that support well-being and professional growth.
Her leadership approach focuses on innovation, engagement and strategic partnerships, ensuring thoughtful consideration that will support individual career aspirations but also propel the organization forward in being the healthcare model for the nation. By connecting purpose with career, Sarah is dedicated to creating an environment where every team member feels valued, inspired and empowered to realize their fullest potential.
Prior to her arrival at Ohio State, she served as the chief human resources officer for University of Utah Health, Hospitals & Clinics, a top academic medical center located in Salt Lake City. In that role, she was responsible for leading all aspects of the organization’s HR efforts supporting over 14,000 team members. She received the HR Achievement award from Utah Business in 2021.
Sarah earned a Master of Science degree in HR management from Southern New Hampshire University. A frequent presenter on HR-related topics, she also holds a Senior Professional in HR (SPHR) certification.
