About Me
I’m a general gastroenterologist who focuses on esophageal disorders. I provide patient-centered, evidence-based, individualized care to my patients, making every effort to listen to their concerns and formulate treatment plans with shared decision-making.
I love that The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center allows me to work with experts in every field, and I’m excited to be a part of the Esophageal Center team at Ohio State Outpatient Care New Albany.
Additionally, working at an academic medical center allows me to pursue my passion for medical education and provides opportunities to teach and mentor fellows, residents and medical students. I plan to continue fostering these skills through the Faculty Advancement, Mentoring and Engagement (FAME) Educator Development Program on Teaching and Curriculum Design.
In terms of research, I most recently published manuscripts about esophageal stents and dysphagia in the elderly. I’m currently working on projects regarding Barrett’s esophagus and esophageal dysmotility in lung transplant patients.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family, traveling and trying new foods.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 10/25/2021, Dr. Chan has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
