Coping with COVID-19: Acknowledge emotions

Acknowledge-emotions_Large

When we’re angry or overwhelmed, it’s important to stop and name our emotion.

Acknowledging our emotions transforms them into fact, a realization that can be addressed without blowing up or reacting in ways that could be harmful to others.

More importantly, we learn that, while emotions like anger may give us energy, they at the same time function to distance others we depend on for support and direction. It’s important to think about what the real challenge is and why it’s so emotionally charged.

When we do this, we’re better to ask for help and guidance as opposed to pushing others away.
