Biography
I am a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Pathology as well as the Department of Medicine, Division of Dermatology. I completed my residency in dermatology at the University of Rochester and my fellowship in dermatopathology at Penn State University Hershey Medical Center.
My interests include cutaneous lymphomas, inflammatory skin disorders and medical education. I am an active member of the American Society of Dermatopathology (ASDP) and the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD). In addition to pathology, I see patients with cutaneous lymphoma at the OSUCCC – James.

Academics and research
I am a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist with a research focus on early diagnosis and differentiation of cutaneous lymphoma from inflammatory skin disorders as well as cutaneous lymphoma therapeutics. I am part of a multidisciplinary investigative team evaluating the impact of tumor microenvironments on treatment resistance in the setting of cutaneous lymphoma; this research is the recipient of a 2021 Pelotonia Idea Award.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

Took time to listen to me
The provider offered no information about my condition, expressed little care for my concerns, and was generally unhelpful. I had messaged in MyChart asking for a stronger prescription medication to treat my condition, and the provider required that I come into the office to discuss what they stated were a variety of options for treatment. After driving 35 minutes to the clinic location, and waiting 27 minutes past my appointment time to be seen, I was subjected to a very casual, offhand, 12 minute conversation where she glossed over available pharmaceutical treatment options that are unnecessary for me, which she acknowledged when I asked more specific questions. I asked about laser treatment - which she had shared via message as an option, but did not mention in the conversation- only to be told that, yes, that is the treatment that would be best for me and would immediately solve the problem, but it is no longer offered by OSU because "the machine broke and they're not going to pay to fix it". She did not (or could not) share information about other providers in the area who may have this machine available for patient care, and suggested I "call around". I then asked for the specific prescription medication that I had initially messaged her about so that I could try that while I did the work of finding a way to access the treatment I need, and was told that she didn't think that was made anymore (it is). She then spent the rest of the appointment on her phone, where she googled and then recommended expensive, commercially available, non prescription strength products to try. In the end she prescribed me the medication I had asked for via message, provided no information regarding how to use it or for how long or how to follow up, and sent me on my way. It was the biggest waste of 2 hours and I am no closer to resolving the condition. I look forward to finding a new provider.
