Douglas Magorien, MD, FACC, is an assistant professor of clinical medicine at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Dr. Magorien earned his medical degree and completed his residency in internal medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Magorien also completed a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Cincinnati.
Dr. Magorien is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and is affiliated with The Ohio State University Hospital and the OSU Heart Center at Marysville.
Dr. Magorien’s special interests include clinical cardiology and coronary artery disease, and his research focuses on cardiac magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear cardiology.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. I had the best from the receptionist, to the nurse/ assistant, to the doctor and to a scheduling nurse. Chatted with all of them for a couple of minutes and felt like I wasn't just another patient.

Dr. Magoriem was not informed of the findings that brought me to this particular appointment. However, he ordered a test that seemed reasonable, on order to gain a full spectrum of my present state of health. I believe this approach to be acceptable, given no prior experience with his practice.

He reviewed my data quite well but had little interest in who I am or how I was doing. Data and productivity were the goal. The care was sufficiently careful but not particularly caring.

The doctor did not seem to want to be there and did not give any thoughtful comments or recommendations other than "complete the study and come back for a follow up", and "There's no chance your problem will kill you". The latter comment was somewhat reassuring, but felt hollow.
