About Me

Every day as an otolaryngology surgeon I help people to feel better. I work in a highly specialized area of medicine that focuses on the face, head and neck area.

Through expert surgery, we can achieve a wide range of restorative solutions for patients. Whatever the procedure, I believe that all patients should get top-notch care. Ohio State allows me to deliver that caliber of care.

Our team of professionals has access to Ohio State's cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art research and clinical facilities. Our bench-to-bedside approach allows our patients to receive the best targeted treatment, which leads to fewer side effects and better outcomes.

When I'm not working, I like to attend Ohio State football games or take in a good movie. I also like traveling and relaxing with my family. When I have time, I enjoy doing home improvement projects.

I felt rushed and not taken too seriously. Wen trying to explain anything, Dr. Chiu looked like they were a little annoyed and impatient with me and any of my concerns. I think at one point he even gave me the hand gesture to come on with it, as I was struggling to find some words to describe my issues. He was also a bit abrasive in his general tone and speech when speaking to me. I was concerned for a growth that he barely felt then just said it was a lymph node. That's fine but when I voiced another concern, he was quick to have me get up, grab my things, then follow him out of the office to schedule another appointment. I wanted an ENT doctor and I think I was scheduled for the locaion that is an urgent care. They do nothing for me. I will not choose to ever see Dr. Chiu again and I will reccommend that other patients avoid his care as well.

He seemed kind of irritated I was there. He was abrupt and dismissive. I felt like my issue was of no real concern to him, thus was not worth his time. He mentioned a few things It might be; he didn't address next steps, If those possibilities had treatment, or what provider might be a better choice for follow up. I wanted to ask but it was clear I'd already taken too much of his time. His tag said he's an educator. I'm sure he's probably a brilliant ENT; he has the people skills of a porcupine. I'm assertive and I've worked in healthcare my whole career. I have a lot of patience and empathy for providers. But if I felt like I couldn't ask questions for clarity I shudder to think how that visit would feel to someone with no background.
